San Diego Tbird Club Supports Local Charity
Five Classic Thunderbirds in San Diego
Great showing of CTSD members at the Garden of Innocence Car Show and Fundraiser, our 10th time to support this annual event! The club even received a certificate for attending all 10 events. We had 5 birds and 8 members representing the club, and we all got to park together in the shade. More than 100 diverse cars supported the cause.
Classic Thunderbirds of San Diego brought Donut Star donuts, Starbucks coffee, and waters to sell to raise money for the charity. A big thanks goes to to Elaine for getting the coffee and bringing it so early. Thanks to Geoff, Jeff L, and Shelly for playing backup when there was a line and giving Elaine breaks, offering up Venmo and CC options, and decorating the booth.
David D played CTSD ambassador at our row of cars all day and encouraged new people to join.
Gary A found a way to fly our club flag at our coffee booth.
Hot dogs and nachos (pretty good actually) were offered by the show, and El Jefe showed up with sandwiches just as we all got hungry. Thanks, Mitch.
Between the free Starbucks coffee, ice, and water Mitch and Elaine scored through a Vons donation and the great donuts from Donut Star that Geoff brought, CTSD raised hundreds of dollars for this meaningful charity. CTSD donated 8 dozen donuts, and we almost sold out. The last two were devoured by some happy children at the end of the show.
The car show is in a beutiful, parklike location with plenty of trees, grass, and shade, and it’s first come first park for the best spots. We’ve had a great representation of Thunderbirds in years past, and this year was no exception.
